About us

Brighton's independent brunch café. Family-run, food-first.

Moksha has been independently owned and run since we opened in 2007. Chef Oli built it with family around him — his mum Kate was an early face front of house, and his partner Lotta has helped shape the direction of the business ever since. In 2013, we rebuilt the kitchen and grew from a coffee shop into a proper brunch restaurant.

The food has always been made the way we'd want to eat it ourselves. That's still the starting point.

The name comes from Sanskrit — moksha means liberation. It was a small idea at the start, and it still fits.

The team is close-knit and long-standing. Some have been here for years; one for over a decade. That kind of continuity shows up in the food and the way the place feels.
